The CountAEG's United Heritage Opening With Death Cab, ZZ Top
(Polyvinyl Records/Shelter Music Group)
AEG Presents is throwing Austin’s newest major concert hall a suitably eclectic welcome party, announcing an inaugural slate for United Heritage Hall that ranges from reunited shoegaze heroes Hum to ZZ Top, Chaka Khan and Death Cab for Cutie.
The 4,000-capacity, 65,000-sq.-ft. venue, slated to open this spring, will also welcome deadmau5, La Mafia and comedians Taylor Tomlinson and Jimmy Carr.
Shepherded by AEG Presents Southwest Region VP Robin Phillips, United Heritage Hall will offer, as one would expect, state-of-the-art sound and lighting, premium hospitality, luxury suites, VIP seating and dedicated artist spaces. It will anchor River Park, a 109-acre mixed-use development in Austin’s Riverside neighborhood.
As previously reported, AEG is opening another new venue in Austin next year, the 1,500-capacity Moonline, in the East Riverside building now occupied by Emo’s.
The company currently operates Brooklyn Steel in New York, the Mission Ballroom in Denver, Roadrunner in Boston, The Eastern in Atlanta, the Resorts World Theatre in Las Vegas, MegaCorp Pavilion in Newport, Kentucky, the Globe Iron in Cleveland and The Pinnacle in Nashville. Another new venue will open early next year in Portland, Oregon.
