Grammy Contenders: Miranda Lambert, Carín León, Suki Waterhouse, Carly Pearce
Music's Biggest Night meets Music's Lamest Trade Magazine, but don't hold that against these top Grammy contenders.
Miranda Lambert
You’re the executive producer and co-writer of Ella Langley’s Dandelion—what was your chief inspiration on the project?
What inspired us the most was Ella herself. She has such a distinct voice and point of view, and my main goal as a producer was to help create a space where she could really trust that. It makes me so happy to see how she is owning these songs.

Carín León
What inspired MUDA?
I was really inspired by what I was going through in my personal life at the time. Honestly, I just wanted to make music from a freer and more truthful place.
I was also inspired by all the music I grew up with and the sounds that have always moved me: Mexican music, soul, blues, rock, country, ska—all that stuff that’s part of who I am. MUDA came from letting go of genres and labels and simply making the kinds of songs I wanted to hear. It’s an album about shedding your skin without losing who you are.

Fill in the blanks: Loveland is a cross between _______ and _______.
Loveland is a cross between Eve Babitz performing at Woodstock and Mazzy Star sending you a 3 a.m. voice note.
Carly Pearce
Fill in the blanks: Honest Woman is a cross between _____ and _______.
My goal for this project was to be somewhere between the unapologetic voice of Loretta Lynn and the sonic depth of Alison Krauss. Those women are my north stars!
