Chart Final: Ella, ADÉLA and All We Can Tell Ya

The banner year for SAWGOD/Columbia’s Ella Langley continues to unfurl splendidly. In the wake of her copious CMA nominations, ongoing DSP domination and Grammy buzz, the country crossover giant returns to #1 on the HITS Top 50 chart this week with a mighty 67k, driven overwhelmingly by streams.

But there’s another, equally impressive development on this week’s chart: The debut of Capitol’s ADÉLA, who is herself a blazing presence on the Spotify charts thanks to two big tracks, “Ain’t in LA” and “Nicole Kidman.” The Slovak singer’s debut album, PRIMA, crash-lands in the Top 5 this week with nearly 57k. Our Magic 8 Ball says she could well be on the fast track to the big time.

We hasten to note that the pink-haired pop arrival is an international phenomenon, premiering at #1 in the Netherlands and Belgium, at #2 in the U.K., Top 5 in Ireland and Top 10 in Germany, Australia and New Zealand, to name but a few.

Last week’s champ, Alamo’s Rod Wave, slips to #7 in his second frame, adding about 40k to his total, and Beyoncé’s B’DAY reissue (Parkwood/Columbia) enters the Top 10 with 37k.

The most significant new release of the week comes from Artclub/Def Jam’s Jhené Aiko; her Westside Whimsy, which boasts such guests as Kendrick Lamar, Tyga, Larry June and Ab-Soul, has prompted much rejoicing among R&B fans.
