Has it really been 20 years?

To mark its 20th birthday, today, Spotify isn’t just celebrating; the OG DSP is dropping receipts.

The Spot has issued its first all-time rankings—of artists, songs, albums, podcasts and audiobooks—offering a snapshot of what the world actually pressed “play” on over the past two decades.

At the top of the most-streamed artist heap is Taylor Swift, who edges out a stacked tier that includes Bad Bunny (#2), Drake (#3) and The Weeknd (#4). The rest of the Top 10 reads like a streaming-era Mount Rushmore, with Ariana Grande, Ed Sheeran, Justin Bieber, Billie Eilish, Eminem and the former Kanye West all making the cut.

On the album side, Bad Bunny’s 2022 Rimas effort, Un Verano Sin Ti, claims the crown, underscoring Latin’s streaming dominance. The Weeknd’s Starboy (XO/Republic) and Sheeran’s ÷ (Atlantic) are numbers 2 and 3, respectively, while Olivia Rodrigo‘s SOUR (Interscope) and SZA’s SOS (RCA) sit comfortably alongside longer-tail catalog faves like Arctic Monkeys’ 2013 project AM (Domino).

If there’s one song that defines the Spotify era, it’s The Weeknd’s “Blinding Lights,” which lands at #1 on the strength of an astonishing 5.3b streams. Sheeran’s “Shape of You” and The Neighbourhood’s “Sweater Weather” follow, reminding us that virality doesn’t always fade. The Top 10 features other perennials like Harry Styles’ “As It Was,” the Post Malone/Swae Lee crossover “Sunflower” and The Kid LAROI’s Justin Bieber-assisted “STAY.”

Beyond music, The Joe Rogan Experience summits the podcast rankings, with true-crime staples like Crime Junkie and My Favorite Murder also ranking high. The audiobook chart is led by Sarah J. Maas’ A Court of Thorns and Roses. Some guy named Tolkien claims the #2 slot with The Fellowship of the Ring.
