Some "Dreams" do come true. Fleetwood Mac: The Chain, Frank Marshall's long-awaited Fleetwood Mac documentary, premieres on Apple TV on Jan. 29.
Timed to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the 1977 blockbuster Rumours, Fleetwood Mac: The Chain is the first such film to be fully authorized by the band.
Marshall's movie (see trailerette below) starts its story when the Los Angeles duo of Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks joined the long-running British blues band founded by Mick Fleetwood and John McVie, which had veered toward pop with the addition of pianist-singer Christine McVie. The film traces the quintet's long, complicated, often debauched history from the breakthrough of 1975's Fleetwood Mac through the current day.
Marshall also directed the acclaimed documentaries The Bee Gees: How Can You Mend a Broken Heart (2020), The Beach Boys (2024) and this year's Pete Townshend: Behind Blue Eyes.
Speaking of rumors, we hear that Lindsey has a completed album ready for release, while Stevie and Mick are each working on new LPs for 2027.
