Primary Wave and Mary J. Blige: It's a Family Affair

We've got the 411 on the latest member of Primary Wave's family.

Mary J. Blige, the Queen of Hip-Hop Soul, has inked a deal with House Mestel that encompasses her catalog compositions and recordings. Expect the PW machine to secure a brace of placement and branding opportunities.

A nine-time Grammy winner who was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2024, Blige has scored hits like "Family Affair," "Real Love," "Be Without You," "I Can Love You" and "You Bring Me Joy." In 2025, the Library of Congress inducted her 1994 album My Life into the National Recording Registry.

"From the moment I heard 'You Remind Me' on NYC's KISS-FM, I became a Mary J. Blige fan,” reads a quote from PW Chief Content Officer Natalia Nastaskin. “For over 30 years, she’s gifted the world with hit after hit and in the process, created the soundtrack of our lives. To partner with the Queen herself on her extraordinary catalog and legacy is an honor for me and the entire Primary Wave team.”

Mary J. Blige: My Life, My Story, her Vegas residency at Dolby Live at Park MGM, began in May and has been extended through 2027.
