January 25, 2026

UMPG has appointed veteran Latin American executive Catalina Santa Peña as managing director of Mexico. An accomplished author, attorney and creative executive, Santa Peña will oversee publishing operations in the territory, driving creative strategy, songwriter development and business growth while enhancing UMPG’s stature in one of the world’s leading Latin music markets.

“We are thrilled to welcome Catalina to the UMPG team,” said Alexandra Lioutikoff, president, Latin America and U.S. Latin at UMPG. “Catalina is an accomplished entertainment attorney, executive, and industry thought leader who brings a rare combination of legal expertise, creative insight and executive leadership to her new role.”

Santa Peña previously held senior positions in Colombia at Warner Chappell, Sony Music and SAYCO (PRO). She also founded The Artist’s Attorney (ATTY) in 2019, which became a leading law firm in Latin America. The firm has represented some of the most influential artists in Latin music, including KAROL G, J Balvin, Sky Rompiendo, Aterciopelados, Nanpa Básico, Ella Taubert, SOG and Piso 21.

In 2020 she authored Industria Musical Para Artistas, Music Business Para Todos, a widely-referenced guide that details the music ecosystem surrounding artists and creators.
