Ozzy Osbourne may have shuffled off this mortal coil, but his once-annual Ozzfest is on next summer in the Black Sabbath legend’s hometown of Birmingham, England.
Per an Instagram post, the event will be held at Villa Park, which hosted Osbourne and Sabbath’s final live performances, in July 2025, just 17 days before the artist’s death at the age of 76. Dates and performers have yet to be announced.
Ozzy and wife Sharon launched Ozzfest as a touring franchise in 1996, providing a crucial platform for metal acts for more than 20 years. Among those who spent formative time on the road with Ozzfest were Slipknot, Pantera, Rob Zombie, Linkin Park, System of a Down and Disturbed. Its final incarnation was a 2018 New Year’s Eve show at the Forum in Los Angeles.
Earlier this year, Sharon held out the possibility of holding a stateside version of Ozzfest, but no details have emerged. “We want to hear from everyone where we should go in America,” she said in conversation with her son, Jack, on their family podcast. “We’ve got to find a lot of new, young talent, because that’s what your dad would want.”
