Universal's Jesús López To Be Honored by Spanish Music Academy

Universal Music Latin America and Iberian Peninsula Chairman and CEO Jesús López will be among the honorees for La Academia de la Música de España’s inaugural Honorary Academics.

The Academy will recognize 10 individuals who have made significant contributions to the creation, performance, production, research and dissemination of music in Spain. Other honorees include recording artists Ana Belén, Raphael, María del Mar Bonet and Carmen Linares. The ceremony will take place on Nov. 6 in Spain.

López recently celebrated his 30th anniversary as UMG’s chief of Latin America. Two years ago he received the prestigious Medalla de Oro in Fine Arts from Spain’s King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia.
