Monotone's Brian Graf
What was the first concert you ever attended?
Bruce Springsteen at Nassau Coliseum, 1988. I was four years old—the tickets were a gift for my mom's 30th birthday. I fell asleep, but still a Bruce fan.
You can go back in time and see any concert. Whom would you see and when?
The first LCD Soundsystem show, London, 2002.
What’s the single biggest change in a manager’s responsibilities since you started in the biz?
A common sentiment these days is that managers have five times as many responsibilities as they had in the past. My feeling is that the job has always been about doing whatever it takes to keep your client's career where they want it to be without compromising their integrity or your own. That means adapting to any change in responsibility.
Name a manager not at your company whom you admire.
Adam Shore. He's great at all his jobs in the music business, manager being one of them. Adam is always my first stop for advice because of his openness and honesty.
