What’s the first concert you ever attended?

George Strait at the Houston Astrodome alongside his band, Ace in the Hole. I believe it was 1989 or 1990.

What’s the single biggest change in a manager’s responsibilities since you started in the biz?

When I first started doing this nearly two decades ago, our primary role was to provide leverage and effectively derive value from our partners (e.g. label, agent, publishers etc). Now, our job is to act as an artist's partner/coach, helping them navigate a rapidly changing business and teach them how to be both effective, but remain true to themselves.

Name a manager not in your company whom you admire.

Dalton Sim at Good Harbour Management (Mitski, Father John Misty, Rostam, etc). Dalton’s an old friend, but I find his industry awareness impressive particularly due to not being located in a major music hub (he’s in Boston). I’d describe him as curious, which I find an attractive and increasingly rare quality.
