What stands out most about the process of recording “Gabriela”?
“Gabriela” brought out a completely different side of each of us. We blended our voices and energy into one shared story. It challenged us in ways no other song has, and it let us tap into a softer, more feminine side of ourselves.

Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for “Defying Gravity” from Wicked. I could cry listening to their voices together, so I’m hoping we get to see them accepting the award.

What did you learn about yourself when making “Messy”?
I learned that I could write in a simple way, fewer metaphors, and talking directly and honestly about how I felt towards myself. This was healing. I wrote every thought as it came, and through this process found a new way of writing.
