HITS Grammy Special Pt. 2

Grammy Nominees: Olivia Dean, Alex Warren, Leon Thomas, sombr, Chris Lake

December 23, 2025

It can’t be all couture fittings and champagne toasts for this year’s exalted Grammy nominees. They also have to put up with mishegas like this…

  • Olivia Dean

What surprised or most delighted you about the fan reaction to “Man I Need”?

I hoped that women would love this song, but I’ve loved seeing all the men connecting with it too!

  • Alex Warren

What stands out most about the process of recording You’ll Be Alright, Kid?

How natural everything felt. I write with the same three people, and we mesh so well, everything just flows together and we’re constantly bouncing ideas off each other. It’s so fun every time I’m with them.

    (Jack Dytrych)

  • Leon Thomas

What stands out most about the process of recording MUTT?

That moment I realized I had a whole album finished… and it just didn’t feel like me. I had to scrap everything and start from zero. That forced me to confront who I really was as an artist—no hiding, no playing it safe. MUTT became my chance to give the world all of me, unfiltered. That process taught me to trust my instincts, even when it means burning the blueprint and beginning again.

  • sombr

What’s your absolute favorite moment on I Barely Know Her?

The final song, “Under the Mat.” It was the last song I wrote for the album, and it ties everything together in an intense and satisfying way. I had so much fun writing and producing it, and the song makes the album complete!

    (Bryce Glenn)

  • Chris Lake

What stands out most about the process of creating "Galvanize (Remix)”?
I grew up listening to The Chemical Brothers. Their catalog has been so influential to me that even having the opportunity to remix the record was an honor. The process felt daunting when touching classics, but it all came together so naturally and landing a Grammy nomination is an incredible and meaningful recognition.
