Grammy Nominees: Lukas Nelson, Linkin Park, Coco Jones, Laufey
It can’t be all couture fittings and champagne toasts for this year’s exalted Grammy nominees. They also have to put up with mishegas like this…
Lukas Nelson
Grammys aside, name an award or honor you’ve won that means the most to you.
Earlier this year I was recognized for my work with Music Heals International, which was something I’ll never forget. I’ve been fortunate enough to work with Music Heals by traveling to Haiti following the 2010 earthquake that ravaged that island, sharing music in schools and being able to bring some joy back to the children there. It’s a cause very close to my heart.

Linkin Park
Grammys aside, name an award or honor you’ve won that means the most to you.
One of the most meaningful awards the band has won is the George and Ira Gershwin Award for Lifetime Musical Achievement from UCLA, particularly since Dave Farrell and Brad Delson are both Bruins. Additionally, we were extremely honored when Music for Relief, a nonprofit founded by the band in 2005, received Pollstar’s Music Unites Award in 2019. The award recognized the organization’s meaningful work in bringing together the music community to support victims of natural disasters around the globe.
Coco Jones
What’s your absolute favorite moment on “ICU”?
The outro. I love how broken down and vulnerable it is. And I love to watch people in the crowd hearing this part. Feels like it connects me to them in a deep way. Seeing all the men connecting with it too!

Laufey
What’s your all-time-favorite Grammy moment, either as a participant or a viewer?
Performing “From the Start” before the Best Traditional Pop Vocal Grammy was announced calmed me down and grounded me at my first Grammys. It was so nice to be able to just be a musician on that day and I felt so well looked after by the house band and the wonderful MD, Cheche Alara.
