HITS Grammy Special Pt. 2

Grammy Nominees: HUNTR/X, PinkPantheress, Cynthia Erivo, Teddy Swims

December 27, 2025

It can’t be all couture fittings and champagne toasts for this year’s exalted Grammy nominees. They also have to put up with mishegas like this.

  • EJAE, HUNTR/X

Grammys aside, name an award or honor you’ve won that means the most to you.

Definitely getting honored by ASCAP as one of their Women Behind the Music. Being honored alongside Kehlani and Kali Uchis was surreal, and although I felt imposter syndrome, it feels incredibly validating because it took a long, winding path to get to this point. Not just as a singer, but as a songwriter!

    (Ricky Middlesworth)

  • PinkPantheress

What stands out most about the process of recording Fancy That?

The creation of “Tonight.” I was with Count Baldor, my collaborator, and I was really unsure of what chords would make sense at that moment. I was just playing keys for a few minutes trying to make sense of it all, feeling at a loss. Upon hearing all the beats back a few weeks later, I was surprised to listen to that specific beat because I loved it so much. I was even more surprised when I realized I was the one who played the keys.

  • Cynthia Erivo

What stands out most in your mind about the process of recording “Be Okay”?

I was very clear on that day that I wanted to write something a cappella and bright. I knew I wanted close harmony and a whistle. Other than that there was no plan! The song wrote itself and I am so proud of it.

    (Norman Jean Roy)

  • Teddy Swims

Grammys aside, name an award or honor you’ve won that means the most to you.

This may be a cheesy answer and maybe not an award, but it is an honor, to say the least. Being called “Dad” has changed my life. It’s given me a whole new purpose and has inspired me to become the best I can be in so many ways.
