Grammy Contenders: Latto, A$AP Rocky, Lil Uzi Vert, Omar Courtz, Weezer
Music's Biggest Night meets Music's Lamest Trade Magazine, but don't hold that against these top Grammy contenders.
Latto
What inspired you while recording Big Mama?
My life inspired me more than anything. I was experiencing so many changes personally while still trying to navigate who I am as an artist. Becoming a mother gave me a whole new perspective on life, love, success, and what really matters. I was learning that two things can be true at once. I can be soft and still be a boss. I can be somebody’s mama and still be THAT girl. I wanted the music to reflect all those different sides of me instead of feeling like I had to choose one.

What inspired “EL MUNDO SE VA A ACABAR?”
A lot of it came from everything happening in the world. There’s so much negative news and just how crazy things have been lately. You see all of that and it makes you realize how fast life can change. That was really the inspiration behind the song—that feeling of not knowing what’s coming next. It made me want to focus more on the present and enjoy life as much as I can.
