WMG's Broitman Cued Up To Streamline Syncs
Those arms may be folded, but they embrace syncs for the entire WMG portfolio.
WMG is touting its planned initiative to get its global sync operations in, um, sync by combining its recorded music and publishing divisions. The streamlined department will be headed by veteran exec and newly minted President, Global Sync Ron Broitman, who will report to WMG COO Tom Corson, with Warner Chappell boss Guy Moot providing additional guidance.
Erstwhile EVP of global sync for recorded music, Broitman will oversee pitching, marketing, biz dev, clearances, admin, data analytics and getting yelled at by movie directors. The L.A.-based hitter will lead those efforts for WCM, Atlantic Music Group, Warner Records Group and ADA.
OK, then: Let’s get to those quotes!
“Ron operates at the highest level and has been a bedrock of our best-in-class sync operation over the years with his steady leadership, extensive network and deep expertise in the field,” Corson remarked while trying to download the record-scratch sound effect as his ringtone. “This change establishes one creative strategy, one commercial business conversation, one clearance and one admin path for all WMG sync rights globally, speeding our path to market, simplifying the client experience and expanding opportunities for our artists, songwriters and the creative community.”
“Bringing music publishing and WMG’s recorded business together under one roof is an ambitious growth move that sets us apart from the competition and will unlock even more value for our songwriters,” added Moot. “Our WCM team will remain embedded in our sync business to ensure that our writers continue to receive the care, focus and creative pitching they deserve.”

“Unifying our teams makes us a stronger partner for our clients,” declared Broitman. “We are making it easier and faster to license our entire global library, which means more and bigger wins for our artists and songwriters. I’m grateful to Tom and Guy for their trust and support, and I’m energized to lead this team into its next chapter. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m working on the all-SOMBR episode of The Great British Bake Off.”
As EVP, Broitman notched placements from the Super Bowl to Stranger Things, got Led Zeppelin’s “Stairway to Heaven” into the trailer for Greta Gerwig’s upcoming Narnia flick and lots of other cool shit. Before beginning his WMG tenure he served as SVP of film, TV and advertising at Sony/ATV and did sync for BMG and Zomba.
