Patti LaBelle, Public Enemy, Common Among BMAC Gala Honorees

September 9, 2026

The Black Music Action Coalition will hold its annual gala Sept. 24 in Beverly Hills.

Hosted by radio personality Ken Burns, housed at the Beverly Hilton and presented by Live Nation, the event will welcome artists Patti LaBelle, Common and Public Enemy; THE•TEAM’s Lee Anderson, Marty Diamond, Lenore Kinder, Kevin Shivers and Mallory Smith; EMPIRE’s Tina Davis; UMG’s global impact team; and Interscope Geffen A&M’s Nicole Wyskoarko, who will receive the inaugural Sylvia Rhone Visionary Award.

“The BMAC Gala is more than a celebration; it’s a call to action,” said BMAC President/CEO and co-founder Willie “Prophet” Stiggers. “BMAC brings together some of the most powerful people in music to recognize those leading with purpose and to remind our industry of the responsibility that comes with influence. Six years in, BMAC is focused on turning that influence into real opportunity, real investment and lasting change.

“The 6th Annual BMAC Gala is especially meaningful as we introduce the inaugural Sylvia Rhone Visionary Award, honoring a woman whose career has shattered ceilings and expanded what Black leadership can look like at the highest levels of music.”

In addition to bolstering BMAC’s initiatives, grants and other programming, the proceedings will benefit its work in local communities through BMAC Restore & Rebuild LA, which provides direct monthly support to Altadena residents impacted by the Eaton Fires.

Announcements regarding additional honorees, presenters, performers and special guests will be made in the coming weeks. Rumors that Flavor Flav plans to jump out of a cake could not be confirmed at press time.
