The CountLive Nation Books Record $10.1b Q3 Revenue as Global Attendance Soars
Live Nation’s global concert machine keeps finding new gears.
The Michael Rapino-led company has reported record Q3 revenue of $10.1b, up 19% year over year, as 61m fans attended its shows worldwide, also a 19% increase. Operating income rose 13% to $892m, while adjusted operating income (AOI) climbed 14% to $1.18b.
The latest results extend the momentum Live Nation outlined in its Q2 report, when it said it had sold 143m tickets for 2026 shows through mid-July, already 14m ahead of the prior-year pace. By late October, that figure had reached approximately 170m—up 13% and already ahead of the full-year 2025 total. The company now expects to welcome nearly 180m fans in 2026.
International markets were a major engine of the quarter’s growth. Attendance outside North America increased 29%, accounting for 60% of the company’s total fan growth, and international fee-bearing ticket volume rose 20%, contributing 75% of the global increase. Year to date, international markets have surpassed the U.S. in both concert attendance and sponsorship revenue—a notable shift for a business that has spent years expanding its global footprint.
The concerts division generated $8.7b in revenue, up 20%, and $603m in AOI, up 17%. North American attendance grew 13%, with stadiums and amphitheaters accounting for 90% of that increase; international attendance was up 29%, every region posting growth of at least 15%.
September set a monthly record for amphitheater attendance and number of shows, and October ticket sales rose more than 20%. Event-related deferred revenue reached a Q3 record $3.8b, up 8%.
Ticketmaster revenue increased 9% to $870m, with AOI up 10% to $316m on a record 98m fee-bearing tickets, a 10% gain. Concerts accounted for 95% of the ticket-volume growth, helped by early on-sales for 2027. Sponsorship and advertising revenue rose 14% to $506m; AOI was up 12% to $350m. International sponsorship AOI surpassed North America for the quarter.
The company also expects Venue Nation, its venue division, to host over 75m fans this year, up more than 15%. VN is on track to open or acquire 10 large venues by year-end. They’re expected to accommodate more than 5m fans in 2026 and nearly 8m annually at run rate.
CEO Michael Rapino framed the results around the enduring appeal of the live experience in an increasingly digital world. “The one thing that can't be replicated is being there,” he said, adding that Live Nation expects to sustain double-digit AOI growth for years to come.
The headline growth comes with a distinction worth noting: While Q3 operating income rose 13%, operating income for the first nine months of 2026 was down 25% year over year, reflecting a $450m accrual for governmental investigations and litigation recorded earlier in the year. Adjusted operating income for the nine-month period, by contrast, increased 9% to $2.37b.
Cash generation was also strong: Year-to-date operating cash flow reached $2.1b, up 45%, while adjusted free cash flow rose 25% to $1.6b. Live Nation plans nearly $1.1b in capital expenditures for 2026, with approximately $800m earmarked for venue expansion and improvements.
