CREATE ACQUIRES !K7 MUSIC

Create Music Group continues to expand its global reach with the acquisition of !K7 Music, a multi-faceted group based in Berlin, London and New York.

!K7 was founded 40 years ago by Horst Weidenmüller, who died in February. It has since grown to encompass management, publishing and such label imprints as !K7 Records, Strut and 7K!. The company is also renowned for DJ-Kicks, a long-running series of DJ mix albums that ranks with the most prominent series in electronic music.

William Smith, Chief Financial Officer of Create, said, “Long before [Horst] passed, we spent many hours discussing ways that we could invest more into !K7 to help the business reach new heights. We’re proud that Horst has trusted us with his legacy and the next chapter of !K7’s growth.”
