Taylor Swift continued her campaign for a 2027 Best Original Song Oscar nomination Nov. 1 at a screening/Q&A/reception at Disney’s New York HQ, where the glad-handing reportedly lasted well past lunchtime.

According to The Ankler, after a 30-minute conversation with Toy Story 5 director Andrew Stanton about her soundtrack contribution, “I Knew It, I Knew You,” Swift stayed well over an hour to meet more than 200 attendees, including guild members and Critics Choice voters. She signed autographs for kids, posed for selfies and chatted with guests until everyone had their turn.

“To get an Oscar nomination, Swift has to convince members of the Academy’s music branch that she’s one of them—a working songwriter and musician, not an A-list interloper trying to force her way into their club,” The Ankler wrote of the latest in a sustained, unusually hands-on awards push for Tay, which began when she performed the song at the film’s June premiere—and brought a vintage VHS copy of the original Toy Story for stars Tom Hanks, Tim Allen and Joan Cusack to sign.

In August, she included “I Knew It, I Knew You” in a piano medley during a Grammy Museum event honoring her songwriting, and last month, she performed it as part of a four-song set at the Academy Museum Gala.

The Oscar nominations will be announced on Jan. 21. HITS will likely once again be mooted for the Best Impression of Music Journalism category.
