TikTok Launches Charli xcx Wuthering Heights Promotion
Nothing approximates the emotional rush of classic Victorian fiction like a few hours spent scrolling through TikTok.
With the release of the new cinematic interpretation of Wuthering Heights and the accompanying soundtrack album by Atlantic’s Charli xcx, the platform has launched a swoony new in-app content hub. So lace up your corsets and power up that wi-fi.
Devotees of Charli and the film’s sexy stars Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi will find music from the album, official videos, trending sounds and, of course, fan creations on TikTok by searching “Charli xcx Wuthering Heights.” But will they find the fearful truth that lurks in the recesses of their hearts?
The BRAT Brit is one of the most influential artists on TikTok, and the buzzy film is driving her numbers higher than the moon casting its silvery glow over the haunted moors. “Charli” searches have increased 41% week-over-week, and “House” f/John Cale, the first single from the soundtrack, reached #1 on U.S. TikTok last week thanks to 1.6m creations and 5.6b views.
“TikTok is where fans discover and engage with music at the speed of culture, and Charli xcx’s Wuthering Heights is a perfect example of that momentum in action,” TikTok U.K. Artist Partnerships Lead Lisa Skeppner wrote in a tear-stained letter we found at the bottom of a chest in a spooky old manor house. “From Charli’s new music to the resurgence of classic tracks, the community is already telling their own stories around the film. The album hub is designed to celebrate that creativity and give fans a front-row seat to the entire era as it unfolds.”
