Cirque du Soleil’s first country-themed show—created with Universal Music Group Nashville—will play eight cities on its inaugural tour. Songblazers opens 7/2 in Nashville.
The country-themed show, written and directed by Amy Tinkham (pictured), pays tribute to the legendary and modern trailblazers of country music. Sam Williams, grandson of Hank Williams, wrote an original song, “Carnival Heart,” for the show with PJ Harding and Ned Houston.
Songblazers debuts in Nashville at Tennessee Performing Arts Center, running 7/2-28. From there it heads to Sugar Land, Texas, for a 10-day stand followed by four-night runs in Austin, San Antonio, Birmingham, Ala., New Orleans, Dallas and St. Louis.
Pre-sales start Monday; the general on-sale begins Thursday 3/28.
