David Barbis gets VP stripes

“SPECIAL” OPS” GET PROPS: Capitol Music Group EVP Greg Thompson has promoted David Barbis to the post of VP Promotion for EMI, reporting to CMG SVP Bill Carroll. In making the announcement, Thompson said, "David's passion, knowledge of the Rock formats, and his ability to lead by example are critical for this position. The ‘EMI Special Ops,’ as they are fondly referred to, [are] comprised of David Barbis, Dave Lombardi and Scott Burton and assisted by Brianna Hill. Each individual has met significant challenges, and together as a team they are a formidable force in our business. I wish David all the best in his new role, and I look forward to the team breaking the likes of Hockey, Thousand Foot Krutch [and] Since October, and taking a leading role in bringing Cypress Hill to new heights."
