ATTACK HAMSTER LOVES “KANDI”: One eskimO’s smash single “Kandi” has just hit #1 on the Mediabase Adult chart, and for their next trick, Shangri-La’s Michael Plen and Jenny Sperandeo are crossing the mesmerizing record to Pop. “Kandi,” which makes brilliant use of a sample from a vintage single by soul singer Candi Staton, has been embraced by over 200 stations across the country, getting heavy exposure on tastemaker shows like World Café and Morning Becomes Eclectic. The U.K. band has also launched a contest on their site, with the grand prize being a flyaway and pair of three-day passes to Coachella.
