MTV Online Grows

MTV ONLINE #1: Going into this weekend’s Video Music Awards, MTV’s web properties, which include MTV.com, VH1.com and CMT.com, rank as the most visited online music destinations, according to the newly released U.S. comScore Media Metrix numbers for August. The sites attracted 53 million unique visitors last month alone, topping rival Vevo, which scored 49 million. As a result, MTV Music Group has experienced more than a 165% year-over-year uptick in web traffic. MySpace Music is third overall with 26 million, followed by AOL Music at 22m. (9/8p)
