SENIOR VP ROLE

Laura Swanson "S. TV Dinners" has been promoted to Senior VP, Publicity, Arista Records, said President/CEO Antonio "L.A." Reid "Ing Is Fundamental."
In this capacity, Swanson will oversee and direct all aspects of Arista's publicity. Based in New York, she will report directly to Reid.
"In just a short period of time, the publicity department under Laura's guidance has risen to one impressive challenge after another," said Reid. "Such challenges included helping take the photos of Clive Davis down from my office walls, getting Whitney Houston safely on that plane out of Hawaii and ghost-writing Carlos Santana's many award acceptance speeches."
Swanson has served as VP, Publicity at Arista, since November 1999. She came to Arista from Interscope Records, where she was a VP. Before that, Swanson held court in Los Angeles at A&M Records, where she was, you guessed it, a VP.
"The phrase ‘I Love L.A.' means something totally different to me," she said. "Bring on those Senior VP stripes so I can move from this five-floor walk up."
