JONNY BOY DROPS "CRY FOR ME"
5/17/24

Jonny Capeci, the lead singer of alt-pop band Nightly, has stepped into the spotlight with his second solo single, "cry for me," following his debut track, "angel face."

The project, under the name jonny boy, precedes Nightly's upcoming album and showcases Capeci's versatility as a songwriter and performer. Meanwhile, new track—which will be featured on the forthcoming solo album due this summer—arrives alongside a music video, seen below.

In addition to the success of Nightly, Capeci has been making waves in the country and pop music scene as a songwriter. With credits including multiple cuts with Kane Brown, a platinum single with Valley and collaborations with artists like 24K Golden and G Herbo, Capeci most recently landed a song on the Twisters soundtrack with Kane’s “Classic Country.”

The decision to pursue a solo project stemmed from Capeci's passion for songwriting and production. He began crafting these songs during his downtime while working on Nightly's next album, feeling they didn't quite fit the band's sound but were too personal to give away to other artists. Encouraged by his bandmates, Capeci decided to release the music under his solo moniker.

The creative vision for the project extends beyond the music itself, with visuals shot in Joshua Tree, Malibu and Nashville by photographers Josiah Van Dien and Lily Nelson, along with visuals and videos directed by Nathan Weber. Capeci has documented the entire process and plans to release a mini-documentary alongside the album.

Jonny boy is managed by Neon Coast’s Nikki Boon and Martha Earls and repped by UTA’s Matthew Morgan and Emily LaRose.
