WHAT IT IS: Facetiously named for an affluent neighborhood adjacent to their hometown of Cary, NC., the five-piece, lo-fi alt band is an intriguing anomaly. Apart from Cuban-American vocalist Marco Luka, the band’s Srikar Nanduri (guitar), Manas Panchavati (vocals), Tanmay Joshi (vocals) and Abhi Manhass (production, bass) are all of Indian descent. Tapping into the members’ cultural influences, eclectic range of personalities and individual tastes, the band carves out a space entirely their own. Latest single, “Pears,” is a testament to the band’s development since its formation in 2017.
