VIDEO SPOTLIGHT: "EASIER"
11/20/16

A few days ago, Glassnote's Mansionair released the music video for their latest single, "Easier," which, aptly, was produced by Eric J (Flume, Nick Murphy AKA Chet Faker). Look below to watch the clip, which features a highly choreographed routine between two human-shaped CGI figures that teeters between an aggressive fight and a tender dance.

However you choose to think about it, the music of Mansionair is passionate; it's warm, soulful and seemingly effortless in its empathetic nature, while simultaneously smart (mathematical even) and carefully contrived.

This is made even more evident by a dreamlike, nearly supernatural live show. Around the time of this video's release, the Sydney trio delivered a tantalizing, synth-heavy set at East L.A.'s beloved Echoplex, as part of Red Bull Sound Select Presents 30 Days in L.A. Mansionair kicked things off with "Pick Me Up"−an atmospheric, keys-driven loner's lullaby, off the group's 2015 Pick Me Up EP. Other standouts included the same EP's "Speak Easy" and of course the subject of this post, "Easier," which served as their closer.

NOTE: This post was written while eating melted cheese, petting a fat black cat and wearing thigh high socks and an astoundingly oversized sweater, during a rare bout of welcomed SoCal rain, after a tear-inducing hell of a week, potentially under the influence of a green tree-like substance. Let me tell ya, this is the time to listen to Mansionair.

xx,
Samantha Hissong
