WEEKLY OBSESSION: BLUE BLOOD
2/10/16

When it comes to dating, I have two cardinal rules:

1. NO musicians.
2. NO men who work in the music biz.

Seeing as it's nearly impossible to adhere to them while working in the HITS cesspool by day and being a musician by night, I decided to do something that I swore I would never do, and download a dating app.

While I haven't found any men to write home about, these guys have exposed me to a TON of new music in hopes of impressing me with their musical savvy, and some of it's actually pretty great.

One guy earned serious brownie points for turning me onto "Blue Blood," a gem by a Southampton singer/songwriter, Laurel, and I just can’t get enough. The serene songstress released the track independently via Soundcloud, garnering almost 180k plays over the last few months. Turns out she’s represented by Sarah Stennet at First Access Entertainment (Zayn Malik, Ellie Golding, Iggy Azalea), so I have a feeling we’ll be seeing MUCH more of her to come.

Take a listen to the ethereal track below and let me know what you’re obsessed with this week by shooting me an email at [email protected]. I'm also open to match-making.

L'chaim,
Naomi Robin
