CHART CHAT
1/11/16

HITS' own Jesse Beer (CliprKid) and Naomi Robin (RockinRobin) jump on the web to discuss the newest adds on the radio charts this week, and you've got an inside look at their chat. Find out what's hot on their radar.

RockinRobin: Before we get into new music on the airwaves, I’d like to give mad props to all stations spinning Bowie’s music today. I hope this continues, allowing a new generation to discover his creative brilliance

CliprKid: Yes, we definitely need some changes

RockinRobin: Too soon, buddy

CliprKid: Bowie was such a rare breed, you look at all the outpouring over his death, artists from every genre of music.

RockinRobin: He means so much to so many. Photos commemorating Bowie have inundated social media. Actually, St Lucia—who just charted on Alt with “Dancing On Glass”—posted a beautiful topless shot of him on their Instagram

CliprKid: It is really quite remarkable, my entire Instagram feed this morning was all Bowie. As for the song, it’s kinda catchy and fun. Speaking of artists that seem to transcend genre, Adele’s new single, "When We Were Young," just debuted on the Triple A charts. It's one of my favorites on the album and already sitting at #17 on Top 40 as well

RockinRobin: Adele's 25 is a force of nature. Taylor Swift isn’t doing so poorly either. Her 6th single from 1989, “Out of The Woods,” charted on Top 40 and Hot AC this week

CliprKid: Ya, I would put her and Adele in a category of their own

RockinRobin: I never thought I’d say this, but I feel like Justin Bieber has the potential to join that club. His 3rd single, “Love Yourself” off of his latest album just charted on Hot AC while he has 3 singles on Top 40, and he's even taking the top 3 spots on the Spotify US Top 50 chart

CliprKid: Let's switch gears for a moment and talk about Andrew Watt on Varvatos/Republic.. I feel his is going to have an impact in the industry this year. The guy is incredible

RockinRobin: I’m in love with his single, “Ghost In My Head.” It just charted on Active Rock and I seriously hope Alternative embraces it

CliprKid: YES!!!

RockinRobin: I'm off to binge listen to Bowie's catalog. Ciao
