PRIMARY WAVE GETS MOODY WITH HAYWARD
4/16/20

Primary Wave has acquired a stake in the publishing catalog and master royalty stream of songs and recordings by Justin Hayward, singer, songwriter and guitarist of English classic rock band The Moody Blues. Included in the deal are some of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee's biggest hits, such as "Nights In White Satin" and "In Your Wildest Dreams."

Of the deal, Hayward said, "It's wonderful for these songs to have a champion like Primary Wave. Although myself and The Moody Blues have always been hard-working live, touring performers, we never really actively promoted our songs to their fullest. This deal is absolutely brilliant for the music we love."

Primary Wave Chief Marketing Officer Adam Lowenberg added, "I have been a fan of The Moody Blues for many years. Justin is an incredibly talented musician and songwriter, and the songs he's written are timeless. We couldn't be happier to have his music inside the Primary Wave family and are excited for what's to come."

Since their formation in the 1960s, as a part of the original British invasion, The Moody Blues have inspired millions of fans with their anthems of love, compassion and peace. The band has consistently received radio airplay globally, and continues to perform at concert arenas around the world. They have sold over 70m albums worldwide and have been awarded 14 platinum and gold discs.

Hayward was awarded ASCAP's Golden Note award in 2005, and in 2003 was given the Gold Badge by British society BASCA. He recently received his second Ivor Novello statue for Outstanding Achievement.
