SMACKSONGS INKS SOME NEW TALENT
11/18/19

Shane McAnally and Josh Osborne’s SMACKSongs is celebrating the inking of Jack Newsome to an exclusive publishing deal. The L.A. based pop singer, songwriter and producer was recently a finalist on NBC’s Songland, where he pitched an original song to Kelsea Ballerni.

Newsome also co-wrote the winning track from another episode, “Hurt Me,” recorded by Meghan Trainor. In addition to securing features, Newsome has also penned tracks for artists like PLATINUM, Matt Sato, Sean Kingston, and others.

“When [McAnally and I] met on Songland, I immediately felt seen, heard and understood on every level. When I met the team at SMACK, it was the same thing. I felt an instant connection with everyone,” said Newsome. McAnally adds, “Jack lights up every room he walks into with his energy and his talent. It’s such a gift to get to write with him, even better to get to be a part of his journey to superstardom.”
