A PODCAST SERIES FOR SCORES
8/20/19

Disney Music Group, in association with Treefort Media, is debuting a new podcast series, For Scores, featuring interviews with film and television composers from Disney, Marvel, Pixar, Lucasfilm and 20th Century Fox, among others. Set to launch on 8/23, the podcast, produced by Disney Music’s Maria Kleinman in conjunction with Treefort Media, is hosted by Variety journalist Jon Burlingame and will release four interviews at a time.

The first four episodes include composers Alan Silvestri, who discusses his work on all four Avengers films, Pinar Toprak, the first woman to score a film, Captain Marvel, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Harry Gregson-Williams, who has worked on Disney’s Penguins and is currently working on the forthcoming live-action film Mulan, and Henry Jackman, who scored Disney's Wreck-It Ralph and Big Hero 6, among other projects.

DMG President Ken Bunt says, “Launching a podcast was a natural progression for us given our legacy and rich history with award-winning film and television soundtracks.” Robbie Snow, DMG’s SVP of Marketing, adds, “We’re incredibly fortunate to work with such a well-respected journalist and expert in music for films and television. Jon’s rapport with these composers has evoked poignant and personal accounts of their scoring processes.”

For Scores can be downloaded everywhere podcasts are available on 8/23. New episodes are slated to debut in the fall and will be followed by more in early 2020. For more details, click here.
