POP MART

There’s lots going on out there right now. It seems like an important event has occurred every week since the beginning of the year. Currently, all the talk surrounds Super Bowl week, iHeart’s Pop Summit and The Grammys, and here in New Orleans, it’s Mardi Gras season! Yep, I said season. There’s parades for weeks and 10-12 of them a day. Big fun!

Speaking of which, they’re clearly having a lot of fun over at Def Jam these days. Sackheim, Rothschild and Farag are rockin’. Justin Bieber’s “Love Yourself” (RBMG) just took over the #1 spot on the chart, bumping out labelmate Alessia Cara’s “Here.” At the same time, Team Def Jam was impacting her new single, “Wild Things,” which looks to be at the top of the Most Added column this week. Keeping things rolling on that success train, they dropped Rihanna’s new single, “Work” f/Drake, which charged up the chart to just inside the Top 30 after only a couple of days of airplay. Look for big add action on that one this week as well.

As for other big things dropping, RCA’s Riccitelli, JR, Daddio & Cooper launched ZAYN’s first single, “Pillowtalk.” It’ll impact this week and should also chart immediately. G-Eazy f/Bebe Rexha’s “Me, Myself & I” is Top 10 on the iTunes singles chart, while his album is also in the Top 10 on its corresponding chart. After being one of the Most Added on the chart last week, the song quickly moved Top 30. R. City f/Chloe Angelides’ “Make Up” (Kemosabe) is now on more than 80 stations, including WIOQ, WXXL and SiriusXM’s Venus, along with four others that just came in. Kygo f/Parson James’ “Stole the Show” had a huge impact week, pulling in majors WBMP, WZMP, Y100 and WDZH. Justin Timberlake’s “Drink You Away” moves up to #35 this week, and WRVW has huge callout on the track.

Global’s Team Palmese have Nathan Sykes f/Ariana Grande’s “Over and Over Again” bubbling just under and looking to chart with powerhouse majors on board like WKSC, KZON and WZPL. Look for this one to move up quickly.

Epic’s Team Glassman have pulled in a ton of early commitments on Zara Larsson f/MNEK’s “Never Forget You.” The track impacts next week and there are already 50+ stations (and counting) on board. Travi$ Scott’s “Antidote” (Grand Hustle) is now on 115 stations and is ready to make the Top 25 move this week. WBMP PD Rick Thomas says, “When Amp blasts out the windows, you're gonna hear the ‘Antidote!’” AudioDamn!’s “Radar” pulled in WNCI, WERO and WFBC to add to the growing list of stations on board.

Columbia’s Leipsner, Borris & Vaughan have Adele’s “When We Were Young” (XL) heading toward Top 10 at four formats and I, for one, can’t wait for her Grammy performance. One Direction’s “History” (SYCO) is already chartbound. Rachel Platten’s “Stand by You” has moved into the Top 30 and pulled in 30+ new adds last week; that should send the track Top 20 quickly. The Chainsmokers f/Rozes’ “Roses” is heading Top 5, as the platinum-selling track continues its momentum.

Hollywood’s Finck, Smith and Ennis charted Shawn Hook’s “Sound of Your Heart” with big help from Venus, KDIS, WHBQ and KEGY. The track has been in the Most Added column for several weeks running.

Warner Bros.Gray, Dyer, Reich & Shih have Jason Derulo’s “Get Ugly” (Beluga Heights) ready to make the Top 20 move with Sirius XM’s Hits 1, KMXV and WNOW all moving up in rotation this week. Lukas Graham’s “7 Years” is ready to chart, after pulling in new airplay from KMVQ, KSLZ, Y100 and B97 this week.

Artbeatz/Red’s Buch, Halpern & Weil continue to climb up inside the Top 10 with Daya’s “Hide Away,” as the track continues its sales and research stories in all airplay markets.

Capitol’s Rainey, Youngblood & Siciliano are impacting Duke Dumont’s “Ocean Drive” this week. Major markets already on board prior to impact include KKRZ, WODS and WZMP. Look for this one to move up quickly. Tori Kelly’s “Hollow” is now Top 25, and WNFN, WNOH and WRVW all just moved it up in rotation. And after two weeks of being in the Most Added column, Troye Sivan’s “Youth” has charted, pulling in new major market believers KZZP, KHTS and KNOU.

Republic’s CW, Spangler & Russell have their hands full of hits as always. Mike Posner’s “I Took a Pill in Ibiza” (Island), which was #1 Most Added on impact, is already at #31, while #7 on the Shazam chart. The Weeknd’s “In the Night” (XO) has moved up to #4 this week, and Shawn Mendes & Camilla Cabello’s “I Know What You Did Last Summer” (Island) is now Top 10. DNCE’s “Cake by the Ocean” will join the Top 10 this week. By the way, it’s selling T10 in Chicago, Boston and Cleveland, just to name a few. Dawin’s “Dessert” is chartbound with leaders WKTU, KKHH, WKQI and WBLI. Taylor Swift’s “Out of the Woods” (Big Machine)—now in the Top 15—was once again one of the week’s Greatest Gainers. Impacting this week is Drake & Future’s “Jumpman” (YMCMB/A1/Epic), which should be on the top of the add board with the list of majors already confirmed.

MUSIC WE LOVE: 99 Souls’ “The Girl Is Mine” (RCA), That Poppy’s “Lowlife” (Island/Republic).
