VAMPIRE WEEKEND HAS TWO NEW SONGS AND A TOUR

After releasing two songs from their upcoming album, Vampire Weekend announced a 39-date tour of North America that includes two-day stands in New York, Chicago and Berkeley.

After four festival dates in the spring, Ezra Koenig, Chris Baio and Chris Tomson head to Houston on 6/6 to start a trek that wraps 10/17 in Austin. They play the Hollywood Bowl on 6/12, Madison Square Garden on 10/5-6 and Nashville on 10/11 on the Live Nation-produced tour.

Vampire Weekend picked the special guests for each stop. Among the openers are The English Beat, Voodoo Glow Skulls, Mike Gordon, Christone “Kingfish” Ingram and Ra Ra Riot. Pre-sales start Tuesday (2/20); the general onsale begins 2/23.

Vampire Weekend’s Only God Was Above Us comes out 4/5 via Columbia Records. Videos for the new songs, “Capricorn” and “Gen-X Cops,” were released today as well.
