UPDATE: Vultures I returned to Apple's DSPs late Thursday afternoon (2/15).
Kanye West & Ty Dolla $ign's rocky rollout continues—Vultures 1 was removed from Apple Music and iTunes midday Thursday (2/15). The album is still available on Spotify at press time.
Reports of distributor FUGA's intent to take down the set due to a violation of the company's service agreement surfaced early Thursday morning. FUGA stated that it's "actively working with DSP partners and the client to remove Vultures 1 from our systems."
The album's launch was met by immediate takedown requests, including one from the Donna Summer estate, which succeeded in removing "Good (Don't Die)" from Vultures I on DSPs. Ozzy Osbourne also blasted the project, for attempting to sample "Iron Man."
Vultures I was nixed by various platforms Saturday (2/10) mere hours after it was uploaded, only to return later that day. Despite its sloppy introduction, Vultures I is still poised to open at #1 on the HITS Top 50.
Will Spotify and the other major DSPs follow suit and take down the album? Or will the project be back on Apple Music and iTunes shortly? Stay tuned. In the meantime, Beyoncé has the #1 and #2 songs at Apple Music with "TEXAS HOLD 'EM" and "16 CARRIAGES," respectively.
