Universal Music Group and Dubai Global Music City are partnering to develop a music ecosystem in the United Arab Emirates.
The project will include recording studios—including the first Capitol Studios outside Hollywood—the creation of a new label, live-performance spaces and the development of educational academies.
Three new Capitol Studios recording facilities will feature a Dolby Atmos mixing room, a “green room,” a writer’s room and a rehearsal studio.
Educational academies will offer master classes hosted by top talent.
“Building a state-of-the-art music infrastructure is critical to our leadership’s vision,” said Rasha Khalifa Al Mubarak, chairwoman of Dubai Global Music City.
Said UMG EVP, Market Development, Adam Granite: “We have long recognized the potential in the Middle East. We share Dubai Global Music City's vision to harness this potential. Our partnership will create a powerful platform.”
