MARKS IS ON THE MARKET

In another example of the extremely tough times presently faced by journalists, veteran music editor Craig Marks was part of 1/23's mass layoffs at the Los Angeles Times.

Since 2019 Marks has overseen all of the Times' pop music coverage. Prior to the LAT, he served at Spin, Billboard and Blender magazine; he's also the co-author of the 2011 book I Want My MTV: The Uncensored Story of the Music Video Revolution.

We like Craig. You can reach him at [email protected].

The latest round of LAT layoffs (115 people in all; more than 20% of the newsroom) follows the dismantling of Pitchfork by owner Conde Nast, as well as the dismissal of most of the staff of Sports Illustrated.
