ALICIA KEYS TUNES IN TO LONDON COMMUTERS

Alicia Keys delivered an impromptu performance at London's St. Pancras International Station on 12/11, delighting star-struck commuters with renditions of "Empire State of Mind," "If I Ain't Got You," "No One" and "Lifeline," the first single from the soundtrack to The Color Purple, which will be brought to you by the fine people at gamma. (which is not a label), Warner Bros. and WaterTower Music.

Keys, who was in town for a headlining show at the O2 Arena, stopped at a public piano called the Sir Elton John and played for about 10 minutes. She got a barrage of cheers when she changed a line from "Empire State of Mind" from "now you’re in New York" to "now you’re in London."

Larry Jackson, we're told, enjoyed a delicious plate of mushy peas and a hearty cup of Darjeeling during the set.

Keys' minigig follows vocals and ivory-tickling, respectively, by the likes of Sir Rod Stewart and Jools Holland, who debuted songs from their upcoming album at St. Pancras just last week. Other notables who've blessed the trusty upright include John Legend, Jeff Goldblum (an accomplished jazz musician) and Tom Odell. Watch Keys play the hell out of the piano below while we're once again reminded of our gross inadequacy.
