Death Row Pictures has partnered with Extreme Music, the production-music library arm of Sony Music Publishing, on a venture dubbed Death Row Pro.
“Extreme sets itself apart by striving for authenticity, and when it comes to hip-hop, there is nothing more authentic than Death Row," said Extreme Music CEO Russell Emanuel. "We're super-excited to be bringing the sonic horsepower of Death Row to music supervisors."
Previously unheard tracks from the Death Row vault and newer West Coast-centric hip-hop genetically engineered with Death Row DNA will be available. The first offerings from Death Row Pro will drop in January.
Death Row just welcomed its first VP/head of publishing, Kat MacLean-Daley, to the revitalized label. It's also celebrating the 30th anniversary of Snoop's landmark debut album, Doggystyle. As for us, well, we're just out of style.
