POLLSTAR: ERAS TOUR TOPS $1B

Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour is the first such outing to top $1b in ticket sales, per Pollstar’s year-end report. In related news, the live music business saw record performance in 2023.

Swift earned $1.04b on 60 shows, Pollstar reported, nearly double the take for the second-place finisher, Beyoncé, who grossed $580m on 56 concerts. Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band, Coldplay and Harry Styles rounded out the Top 5.

While Beyoncé was #2 on the list, her $580m far surpassed the biggest act of 2022, Bad Bunny, who brought in $393m.

Total grosses for the 2023 Worldwide Top 100 Tours hit $9.17b, a 46% spike over 2022. Total ticket sales were up 18.4% to 70m, and average tickets per show was up 24.25% to 18,103. Average ticket prices hit $130.81, an increase of more than 23%.

Grosses for the top 100 North American tours hit $6.63b, nearly 40% better than 2022. Swift and Bey were #1 and #2, followed by Morgan Wallen ($277m/43 shows), Drake ($185m/43 shows) and P!nk ($183m/33 shows).
