WINTER SETS IN AT SPOTIFY

Spotify has hired Cecilia Winter as Global Hits editorial lead. Reporting to Spotify Head of Global Music Curation & Discovery J.J. Italiano, she will take the reins of programming, brand extensions and editorial strategy for such heavy-rotation playlist brands as Today's Top Hits, Pop Rising and New Music Friday.

A New York University graduate who's lived in Barcelona, Buenos Aires and Shanghai, Winter previously served as Music Programming manager at YouTube Music, where she worked on such franchises as RELEASED and The Hit List.

The Spot's Anthony Langone marked the occasion by randomly calling journalists and murmuring "Winter is coming" into the phone.
