O-ROD TO PLAY ROCK HALL
Geffen's Olivia Rodrigo has been added to the performance lineup for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony, Friday (11/3) at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center.
The Rock Hall also announced that O-Rod would be joined by “one of her heroes.” It has yet to say who that will be, but RRHF Foundation Chairman John Sykes told The New York Times that she'd be playing with Sheryl Crow this year," noting, "It’s this mutual admiration that connects the past with the present.”
Rodrigo went on solo last year after her performance partner, Alanis Morissette, dropped out, citing “an overarching anti-woman sentiment” in the industry.
This year's ceremony will honor inductees Crow, Kate Bush, Missy Elliott, George Michael, Willie Nelson, Rage Against the Machine and The Spinners, along with DJ Kool Herc and Link Wray (Musical Influence) and Chaka Khan, Al Kooper and Bernie Taupin (Musical Excellence) as well as Don Cornelius (Ahmet Ertegun Award).
Stevie Nicks, Adam Levine, Carrie Underwood, Common, Ice-T, LL COOL J, Miguel, Queen Latifah and Sia will join previously announced presenters and performers Elton John, Brandi Carlile, Chris Stapleton, Dave Matthews, H.E.R., New Edition and St. Vincent.
The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony will be broadcast live on Disney+ beginning at 5pm PT and will stream following the ceremony. On 1/1 ABC will air a primetime special cleverly titled 2023 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony featuring performance highlights and other standout moments. It will be available for viewing 1/2 on Hulu and Disney+.
