Meg 2: The Trench, the shark thriller co-financed by Warner Bros. and China Media Capital, was the top new arrival in movie theaters as Barbie crossed the $1b mark internationally.

Meg 2 brought in $30m domestically to nab second place in the U.S. while growing another $112m internationally. Paramount's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem was the other debut in the Top 10, grossing $28m.

Barbie crossed the $1b threshold in 17 days, the fastest in Warner Bros. history, beating Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 by two days. Barbie’s split is now $459.4m in the U.S. and $572m internationally.
