LATEST IN THE SCOOTER & TAYLOR SAGA

In the latest installment in the saga of Scooter Braun and Taylor Swift surrounding the sale of her sound recordings, we learned from Tim Ingham's investigative reporting that Braun was open to selling Taylor's masters back to her and actively engaged with her team, making two hard offers of first $300m and later $305m, which were notably $100m less than what Shamrock Capital eventually paid. Both offers were reportedly rejected.

Moreover, there was apparently never a total "gag order" condition in an NDA attached to her purchasing her sound recordings. This directly contradicts Taylor's 2020 claim that Braun demanded an "ironclad NDA stating that I would never say another word about Scooter Braun unless it was positive."

The NDA in question, which Ingham's Music Business Worldwide obtained in full and which confirms that Ithaca was willing to sign, merely restricts talking about the details of the deal and negotiation itself, without any mention of "reputational protections" for Braun.
