ACADEMY ELECTS '23-24 TRUSTEES

Tammy Hurt (pictured) has been reelected chair of the board of trustees of The Recording Academy as it establishes its national officers and 19 other leaders for 2023-24.

Dr. Chelsey Green and Gebre Waddell were elected vice chair and secretary/treasurer, respectively. Christine Albert has been reelected chair emeritus.

"This great new group reflects our eclectic music community and will carry forward our mission of serving all music people,” said Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr. “I look forward to working alongside this esteemed group to continue the evolution of our Academy."

The new board also includes Evan Bogart, Angélique Kidjo, John Legend and PJ Morton. More than half of its members are people of color, while 45% are women. Eleven are Grammy winners. The full list of Recording Academy trustees can be found here.
