Universal Music Canada (UMC) has elevated Craig "Big C" Mannix to VP, Black Music, roughly two years after he started at the company to establish the urban-music marketing team. His new role includes an A&R remit to discover, sign and support Black Canadian creatives as he continues to lead the teams responsible for domestic and international Black-music marketing.
“Craig’s impact on UMC has been immeasurable," said UMC Chairman & CEO Jeffrey Remedios. "He’s built a best-in-class domestic marketing team from the ground up, leading effective campaigns for artists Savannah Ré, Preston Pablo and many more."
Armed with 30 years of experience, Mannix has been integral to building the careers of Canadian artists such as K-os, Kardinal Offishall, Choclair and Pressa. He looks forward to your maple syrup jokes.
