New releases from Chief Keef and Grupo Marca Registrada immediately blew up on Shazam in the U.S., while Netflix’s The Gray Man gets thumbs a-poppin’ for a couple of its syncs.
The Gray Man is responsible for landing Mark Lindsay’s 1970 release “Silver Bird” (Columbia) and The Black Keys’ recent “Wild Child” (Nonesuch) into the Top 5 biggest movers on the Shazam USA Top 100. A sync on P-Valley had a similar effect on Kendrick Lamar’s 2017 cut “LOVE” (TDE/Aftermath/Interscope).
While Chief Keef & Akachi’s “Tony Montana Flow” (43B) and Grupo Marca Registrada's “El Rescate” (RB/Cinq) are the big gainers in the U.S., the U.K. sees Love Island spark interest in Dermot Kennedy’s “An Evening I Will Not Forget,” while Heardle cheaters revive tracks by Maren Morris and Wolfmother. The Lindsay and Black Keys songs are getting some love as well.
